Ultra Wood Designs

Nearly as long as I have been running I have been working with wood. Just as a Reese Cup is a perfect mixture of peanut butter and chocolate it seemed only natural that sooner or later my love of running and wood would come together. “Ultra Wood Designs” was born… Got an idea for a unique medal/buckle display…odds are I can make it for you.

Don’t you just love the smell of sawdust and enjoy the feel of wood grain against your skin.  During an off weekend, I got a little bored in the woodshop and put together a few unique medal/buckle displays featuring mountain backdrops and some iconic race profiles.

Boston Marathon

The iconic Boston course profile graces the top edge of the solid oak display finished in the traditional blue and yellow.  A double row of hooks provides plenty of space for your Boston medals or qualifying races.  Race times and years can also be added.

JFK 50-Mile Medal Hanger/Holder

Proudly display your finisher medals on the very distinctive JFK 50 course profile.  This unique display will forever remind you of your accomplishment running 50-miles over the Appalachian Trail, C&O Towpath and 8-miles of rolling country roads to the finish line.  I’ve made three versions of this display.  If you want to personalize it I can carve your finishing time or any text you would like.

3 Mountain Peaks

A shadow box designs featuring three mountain peaks and a blue sky, a perfect backdrop to display your finisher buckles, coins or unique race bling. If you would desire a different backdrop or a little snow on those peaks, I can do that too.

Mountain Ridgeline

Leadville, Western States, Hardrock or Transrockies a custom shadow box would provide the perfect setting for your keepsakes.

If you don’t see something you like, I can build any type of custom display.  I can build you a display featuring your favorite race profile, either a scenic mountain race or the city skyline of one of the big city major marathons or any race that you want.  Contact me here.
